    Mole Lake Trails Workdays - July 11th & 12th, 2009

The Sokaogon/Chippewa Community (Mole Lake Band) is located in Mole Lake, Wisconsin on Highway 55 just south of Crandon, Wisconsin.

We will meet at the ball diamonds behind the Mole Lake Casino & Lodge.  WOHVA Trail Volunteers generally meet for breakfast at the Cafe' Manoomin in the Mole Lake Casino & Lodge.  If you're new to the area, contact one of the many WOHVA 4WD owners in the parking lot.  You'll recognize WOHVA Trail Volunteers by the WOHVA/Mole Lake Trails Volunteer Sticker proudly displayed on the drivers' side of each vehicle.

Saturday, assembly will occur from 8:00am 'til 9:00am.  There is adequate space for tow vehicles and trailers at the ball diamonds (remember, for workdays all vehicles must by street legal to travel on the roadway).  Please allow enough time to sign liability waivers and register your vehicle with a WOHVA Trails Volunteer ID Sticker.

There will be a short WOHVA Trail Volunteer Meeting at 8:55am.  We will head into the woods, as a group promptly at 9:00am.  Lunch will be on the trail (your responsibility).  We will return to the ball diamonds (as a group) prior to 4:00pm.  At 4:00pm we will hold a short debriefing to discuss the day's accomplishments.  It will last 30 minutes.  As always, their will be a gathering at the Rice Lake Lounge after returning (this establishment serves alcohol - no minors allowed).

Sunday, assembly will occur from 8:30am 'til 9:00am.  We will head into the woods, as a group promptly at 9:00am.  We will return to the ball diamonds (as a group) at noon.

All Trail Volunteers must sign a WOHVA Liability Waiver.  For insurance reasons, only WOHVA Individual Member vehicles are allowed on the trails.  Volunteers that are not members of WOHVA are encouraged to accompany us and assist, but must ride in a WOHVA Member Vehicle.

Please remember no saws are allowed.  Appropriate tools/supplies would be hat, gloves, loppers, small axe, bug spray and water.

NOTE, the Mole Lake Indian Reservation is not open to the general public.  Any one without a WOHVA ID Sticker or not with the group will be considered to be trespassing.  It's important to respect the time that others have committed and arrive on time.  Stay with the group.  WOHVA Spill Kits required for every vehicle (NO EXCEPTIONS!).  Contact Dave Groshek to make arrangements to secure a kit if necessary.

WOHVA works closely with the Sokaogon/Chippewa to limit the environmental impact to Tribal Lands.  As such, this scheduled event may be cancelled due to weather.  Please watch this Forum for regular updates!

    Happy Trails,
