On October 30th, the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest released their 2010 Motor Vehicle Use Map Update Forest Proposal. Forest Stakeholders now have 30 days to comment on the Proposal. The Proposal changes the status of 271 Forest Service Roads in the Forest.
OHV enthusiasts who have not received a copy of the Proposal can access these documents online.
Forest Stakeholders who cannot find the road/routes affected by the proposal are encouraged to contact WOHVA and make arrangements to view our extensive library of Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest Maps.
Tony Erba, Acting Forest Supervisor of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (CNNF) will sign the Record of Decision for the 2010 Motorized Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) for the CNNF next week.
The Decision them is open to comment/appeal as part of the NEPA process.
The Forest Service expects to have the 2010 MVUM (paper copy) available at CNNF Ranger Offices mid to late May. As always, the CNNF website will be updated promptly to reflect the update.
The Forest Service will be available at the upcoming WOHVA OHV Workshops (April 16th -18th) to present the MVUM and answer any questions or concerns that attendee's may have.
