i figured out today why my cj7 doesn't want to turn right
the rear bolt is broken on the steering gear bracket
and the front part of the bracket is also broken
so the steering gear is pivoting on 1 bolt
i did buy a agr super box
and a agr pump
i looked around on agr website a didn't see anything about a super bracket
i need a welder and a prayer lol
any help will help
For welding assistance in the northern sphere I'd contact Eric at Monkeyparts in Lakewood. There's also Todd in White Lake. E-mail me directly for their contact info.

Doze,
I have some of the OEM brackets laying around. I can bring them up this weekend? Also various aftermarket places sell a brace for the CJs that goes from the Passenger side frame to the gear box just above the pitman arm. These help with the stress on those brackets and are a must if serious wheeling (IMO)
Do a search on Ebay for a CJ steering box bracket. They have several aftermarket ones out there. I put one on my 83 but I can't remember the brand off hand.
i decided to use the old bracket
i had my welder buddy weld the crack
then he welded a washer over the crack
we drilled out the broken bolt
and replaced it with a 1/2 in. grade 8
also ordered a bar from quadratec to help stabilize it
hopefully it sits high enough to miss some of the bigger rocks
thanx for the help
